Sonney

Well I got a puppy yesterday. His name is Sonney and he is adorable. He is very shy and likes to hide but we will work together to get him used to me. This morning when I took him out to potty he hid under my car for half and hour. It was cold and I was frustrated but I was finally able to get him out with food. Today he has slept a lot. I think he is still scared to wander so he stays in pretty much the same place I put him down in. He has slept in his kennel and his bed. but hasn't gone much of anywhere else. I know he misses his brothers and mom. I am excited to have him, but I can't wait until he warms up a little more. I will post pictures later. My camera is at school so I have to go get it.

January Fun

This month has been a fun one. I have been able to go down to Utah and visit two of my very best friends. It was much needed therapy. I didn't even know how much I needed it until I got their. I was also able to see a dear friend that I haven't seen since before she left on her mission. I forgot how much I loved hanging out with her. It had been too long.

Michaela and I a while ago. I didn't take pictures last weekend

Jackie, Holly and I before her mission

On Sunday I had a cooking contest with my friend Elliot. We both claimed to make the better enchiladas. I sadly lost this competition. We had 10 judges and lets just say I lost big. It was a fun evening and I have included some pictures.

Facebook Obsession

Well I have become totally addicted to Facebook. I was never really going to sign up but when I went to Utah a week or so ago my friends Jackie and Kira decided that I was registering whether I liked it or not. I am glad I did in some ways but it is bad in others. I LOVE IT!! I have been able to find people I went to high school with that I haven't talked to in 10 years because I moved. It has been interesting to see what is happening in their lives. I have even gotten a message from my first love which was weird. He still has some effect on my heart after all this time. Its been nice to see old friends and catch up with some of them. I will also admit I like the ability to look into peoples lives too. Its kinda fun. Thank you Jackie and Kira for finally introducing me into this world. I never knew what I was missing all these years.

The Holidays in Warmer Weather

Well I spent my Christmas break at my sisters house in Sacramento. It was much warmer there even though it only was in the 50s. It was a lot of fun being with the baby. While I was there she took her first steps, some of which were toward me. I also got to see my mom. Christmas and New Year's were very low key and relaxing which was nice. I was able to read 3 books and spend lots of time being an aunt. I came home with lots of clothes, candy, and stuff for school. I also got the coolest set of pots and pans that I am ecstatic about. They should be arriving soon. I can't wait to use them. The are from QVC and nothing will stick to them. You can let them sit and then just wipe them clean. My sister Erin has some and I love them. So I thought I would share some pics from the holiday season.

I made Mom a clock where there is a picture of each grandchild on the hours.

Max got me a funnel cake maker. I can't wait to try it out!

We are at the Oakland temple. We drove down the Saturday after Christmas to see an exhibit portraying the life of the Savior in statues. It was amazing.

After Christmas I was able to go see friends in San Jose. It was a blast to go and hang out with my friend Christie and her 5 kids for two days. Jacob her 5 1/2 yr old son is adorable. He wanted to be next to me all the time. He even curled up next to me while we watched a movie. He also made me paper hearts to tell me he loved me. Kid's are adorable.

I am now back in the cold and waiting for school to start bright and early tomorrow. It will be nice to have a schedule again. I was starting to get pretty lazy. I luckily didn't have to come home to a snow covered car or driveway. My friend Nick took care of everything while I was gone so that was nice. If he hadn't I would have had to shovel two feet of snow before I could have even made it into my house. Friends are wonderful.

Winter Wonderland!!

Well we have had the first big snow of the year. Yesterday we probably got around a foot of snow. It is very pretty but I was really surprised when I went outside this morning and it was 0 degrees. Last night when I can home it was warmer and I didn't expect the temperatures to drop so much. I am glad that I have a nice fireplace to keep me warm inside.

So today I have gone to church and made homemade caramel popcorn, a hot fudge cake is cookie in the crockpot. I know that sounds kinda weird but I bought a new Taste of Home cookbook this week and it had a recipe for it so I thought I would try it and I am having 3 or 4 guys coming over for dinner tonight so they are the perfect guinea pigs. I am making London Broil and that is just about ready for the oven. I am really excited for dinner because they are all really fun guys and I won't be by myself like I usually am.

It is 6 days until I get to see my Smunchy again. I am so excited to be with her for almost two whole weeks. Christmas is going to be so nice with my mom, Christy, and the baby. I really shouldn't forget Todd, my brother-in-law. He is a good guy and he will play me at air hockey so that will be fun.

Recipe and weekend of reflection

Well today I made peanut butter chocolate chip cookies and thought I would share the recipe with all because they are really good.

Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies
12 tbsp butter
1/2 cup peanut butter
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
2 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 salt
2 cups chocolate chips

Cream butter, sugars and peanut butter. Add eggs and vanilla mix well. Add dry ingredients, mix. Mix in Chocolate chips bake at 350 for 12-14 minutes.

Okay so now to my weekend of reflection. On Saturday I did absolutely nothing. Well I watched 13+ hours of TV. The only productive thing I did was grading some papers and entering grades during some of that TV watching. Last night as I went to bed I was disappointed in myself for wasting the day. If this had been the first time it happened it would have been okay but it wasn't. I have come to realize I am addicted to TV. If I turn it on I have a really hard time turning it off again. It doesn't matter what is on TV I will find something to watch. I have a feeling this is partly because I am hiding from my life and don't want to deal with all the stuff going on but whatever the reason I need to stop it. I have decided that I am going to be canceling Dish Network come January when my contract is up. I need to do more productive things with my time then waste it in front of a television. I also have decided to set some other goals for improving myself in the coming months. I need to be happy with who I am before someone else can be happy and want to spend their life as my husband. So this weekend was good for helping me realize a few things about myself so I guess something came out of me wasting my time. I know some of you really probably could care less but I felt like I needed to share. Have a wonderful week.
